African Mums in Deutschland chosen for Facebook Accelerator Program 2021
African Mums in Deutschland and it's Founder Maame Dentaa Amoo wins Facebook Accelerator Programm. African Mums in Deutschland, a support group for African women in Germany founded by Maame Adwoa Dentaa Amoo has been announced as one the winners of the 2021 Facebook Community Accelerator Program.
The Facebook Accelerator Program helps leaders harness the power of their community to turn impactful ideas into actions. 12 communities were selected from the DACH region and over 130 participants across the nine regions were selected to participate.
Maame Dentaa Amoo started the Community is 2018 as needed a safe space for African women to share crucial information about life in Germany so that they could achieve their social and economic goals easier.
Over the years our community has grown and positively impacted the lives of over 5300 women of black/African heritage. With projects such as free German courses, workshops, seminars and a helpline.
Speaking on this winning this prestigious prize for her community Maame Dentaa Amoo said she was extremely grateful for this opportunity and proud that a community African women built together was gets to be highlighted on the world's stage. She was also excited for the opportunity to learn, grow, scale and further impact the lives of African women in the DACH region.
According to Facebook this year's participating communities have demonstrated impact and capacity to scale. Through the Accelerator-Program, they will receive growth-related training, hands-on mentorship and funds to grow their community and impact.
